SEAN PELLETIER
ILLUSTRATION & DESIGN
I'm Sean Pelletier. I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember. At age nine I started oil painting with a private teacher. These art lessons would give me the basis and confidence I needed for all the art I would produce thereafter. Upon my decision to attend art school instead of a traditional college, I was accepted and attended Pratt Institute in New York City where I received my degree in Illustration. Upon graduation, I began working where I could be connected to anything remotely close to art. From drafting, illustration, marker comprehensives, to caricatures, textile design, sign design, and portraits. Which brings me to where I am now - with the desire to create artwork that catches the eye, includes texture, and of excellent quality. Although as an illustrator I do work from photos, I try to use what I’ve learned to bring my work to a point which is sometimes realistic, yet where one can still tell the work was done by hand. A teacher I once had told me, “If it’s going to look like a photograph, you might as well just take the photo and use that!” So, that is the mindset of the artwork I produce and hopefully the artwork will continue to evolve so I can make works that really please the eye.
